ENERGY SAVING DESIGN

Status

The mission of Lucca’s Technological Centre is to support the development of the territory by supporting the activities related to information, innovation and technology transfer, supporting the competitiveness of associated enterprises.
In particular this are the action area:

• Sustainable Construction which involves the construction of buildings according to the principles of sustainable energy-efficient ;
• Energy Technologies by which is meant both those oriented to energy saving and efficiency and those oriented to define new methods of energy production and distribution with particular reference to renewable sources;
• Information & Communication Technologies; such an area, rather broad, includes various disciplines (robotics simulation, virtual environments, etc..), intended to many areas / sectors such as, for example, the manufacturing industry (paper, metal, stone, marine, automotive , etc.) and cultural and entertainment.

The work done

In particular, it highlighted the need to install a hydraulic hot water pipeline conveying, to the nearby Polo 2, a hot water flow rate, produced by the cogeneration plant, whose enthalpy content would be vice versa dispersed in the environment. .

The results

The work will allow the company to achieve an important economic and energy savings as well as a greater environmental value o its own installation.
