LUCCA’S CHAMBER OF COMMERCE :
ENERGY SAVING DESIGN

Status

Among the various institutional commitments of the Chamber of Commerce of Lucca, also to promote the use of renewable energy sources. But how to proceed without first setting a good example? This gave rise to an interesting energy saving design’s work, which saw the creation of a series of interventions that have characterized the environmental policy of the s Chamber of Commerce of Lucca, in the last years.

The work done

A detailed work of Energy Management has, in a first phase, allowed us to identify and divide by type, consumption of different energy carriers. The identification of consumption indices, allowed to identify the abnormal consumption and to provide a first set of energy optimization measures. Savings measures arising from the energy audit work were concerned:

• efficiency of the energy consumption from lighting;
• efficiency of heat generator;
• reduction of solar load in summer.

All interventions were characterized by a very low pay back time.

The results

Increased energy efficiency with the same comfort for employees, and a greater awareness of the employees themselves to the issues of energy saving. Not to mention the benefit from the reduction of energy costs.
