Status

Camaiore is a town of Tuscany, which is divided into several areas, including one that overlooks the Tyrrhenian Sea. This area, which is called Lido di Camaiore, is a charming seaside town that offers especially in summer, lots of entertainment and plenty of entertainment with an important increase in population. Surrounded by the Alps and by green hills with wide valleys, this city offers picturesque scenery, also thanks to the many villages in the hills from which you can admire beautiful landscapes, including the sea and some islands in the Tyrrhenian Sea (in clear days, can be observed with the naked eye). In 2005 the sea in Lido di Camaiore has received, by the FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education), the Blue Flag, which meets strict criteria both tourist and environmental. In order to give the City a greater attention to environmental and energy conservation issues, the City has sought to rely on CREA, the operational role of City Energy Manager.

The work done and the “Free Energy Saving Consultant Service”

Subsequent to the audit phase and to the identification of municipal consumption, the Enery Management work has been focused on the most energy-intensive entity such as consumption of heating systems do to the Municipal buildings. To this end, and after a careful survey phase, were carried out preliminary design for each building managed by the Municipal. This work phase was aimed at identifying the energy savings can be acquired with energy optimization measures characterized by pay back time lower than 5 years. It was aimed to prepare a project that had innovative features and whose concrete actions in the field of energy saving where fast, feasible and visible from citizenship. Among the most interesting initiatives for the citizen one called "A free Energy Saving Consultant " by which the Municipality has sought to provide a free energy consultation service to all citizens who request it. An engineer expert in energy sector was, once a week, in the municipal offices at disposal to the citizens who wanted to contact him, for information on technologies for energy saving. This initiative has been very successful and had an echo at national level materialized in the creation of many similar initiatives in the area.

The results

Greater energy efficiency, with the same comfort, and greater public awareness of the energy saving issues. A significant reduction in gas consumption as well as an improvement of the environmental quality.
